Shunda Team Practices Safety in Annual Fire Drill
April 16, 2024 – A Tuesday afternoon, here at Shunda Air Conditioning Group, we all put down our tools and stepped away from our desks for something that matters way more than meeting a production quota: our annual fire safety drill. Funny enough, it's one of those events we actually look forward to each year — because when it comes to safety, you can't beat hands-on practice.
Right after the afternoon shift kicked off, our safety lead rounded everyone up for a quick briefing. They kept it nice and simple: when the alarm goes off, this is where you head, and this is how you get there. No fancy jargon, just straight-up clear directions. When that alarm finally blared, what stood out wasn't chaos — it was how orderly everyone was. Folks knew exactly where to go, moved with purpose, and within minutes, every single person was accounted for in the factory yard.
Our safety team walked small groups through how to use fire extinguishers the right way — making sure nobody left without getting a turn to practice.
But the real learning happened next. We didn't just stand around watching a demo; every employee got to actually use a fire extinguisher. The safety team set up a controlled burn pit, and one by one, we all stepped up to put out real flames. "Watching someone else do it is nothing compared to doing it yourself," one of our assembly line guys commented.

Does a fire drill really matter for an air conditioner maker? We think it does. In fact, it matters a lot. The way we run these drills — making sure everyone's on the same page, no cutting corners, paying attention to the small stuff — is the same mindset we bring to the production line. If we can't get safety right inside our own walls, how can you count on us when it comes to protecting your homes, offices, and facilities?
And the best part? By the end of the afternoon, you could feel the shift. It wasn't just about following instructions anymore. People started pointing out things they'd never noticed before — a blocked access path, a storage area too close to an exit. They were really seeing the space through safety eyes. That's what we're after: a team that doesn't just do drills, but lives the mindset. And that's what builds trust, long before our products ever leave the factory.
