Environmental Protection Modernization Renovation (Coal-to-Gas Conversion) Project for Power Station 2 of Almaty Power Plant in Kazakhstan

Against the backdrop of Kazakhstan's active promotion of energy structure adjustment and environmental protection strategies, the environmental protection modernization renovation project for Power Station 2 of Almaty Power Plant has emerged as a necessary initiative. As an important city in Kazakhstan, Almaty places great significance on the stable supply of energy demand and the guarantee of environmental quality. The original power generation mode of Power Station 2, which mainly used coal as fuel, brought about relatively serious environmental pollution problems, such as emissions of sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and a large amount of smoke and dust, exerting negative impacts on the local air quality and residents' lives. Meanwhile, the contradiction between the efficient utilization of coal resources and the demand for sustainable development has become increasingly prominent. Therefore, the renovation project of converting coal to natural gas has become an inevitable choice, aiming to reduce environmental pollution, improve energy utilization efficiency and align with Kazakhstan's long-term development plan.

Shunda Air Conditioning Group has provided explosion-proof glass roof fan series products and their accessories for this coal-to-gas project. In addition, it has also equipped with Russian technical support and comprehensive after-sales service. The total contract value of this project cooperation is RMB 630,000.00, and there will be cooperation on other products in the future. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
